Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix 2021
Race Recap
In a thrilling and unpredictable Hungarian Grand Prix, Esteban Ocon claimed his maiden Formula 1 victory after a chaotic race filled with crashes and penalties.
The race started in wet conditions, leading to a chaotic first lap with five drivers crashing out. Among them was title contender Lewis Hamilton, who was sent to the back of the grid after a collision with Red Bull's Max Verstappen.
Ocon, who had started the race in eighth, took advantage of the early chaos to move up the field. He inherited the lead when both Verstappen and Hamilton were handed penalties.
Vettel Disqualified
Sebastian Vettel of Aston Martin was initially classified as second, but was later disqualified due to a fuel irregularity. This gave the final podium places to Carlos Sainz Jr. of Ferrari and Lando Norris of McLaren.
